Anna and Mike Christopherson, Bar Boda

AnnaMikeBigAnna and Mike visited Edinburgh for a week and fell for the city instantly. They went back home to Stockholm, packed their car and arrived in Leith without really knowing much about the place. Their search for a friendly local led them to convert a shabby old pub on Leith Walk into a cosy living room-like space called Bar Boda. The concept caught on and Sofi’s Bar near the Shore soon followed, as did Victoria just up the road from Boda.

‘We’re delighted the bars are so popular. You can be drinking here with people from all over the world and in Victoria’s, Hemma, Sofi's and Joseph Pearce's our international beer menu reflects this. Edinburgh is great like that: international enough but also small enough that you can bump into people you know on the street....
