Trendy Wendy, co-owner of The Street bar and host of numerous club nights including the long running Tackno and the Playgirl Mansion nights, has become infamous as "Edinburgh's party girl".
'When I started DJing in the mid-nineties there were very few clubs. There are lots of places now but it's still changing – there are places constantly closing down and new places opening up. It's a small scene but diverse enough, there's quite a bit going on even with the smoking ban hitting the clubs' business.
Cabaret Voltaire is one of my favourite clubs. No matter what night you pick you get good music; on Fridays and Saturdays you'll catch guest DJs from all over the world. It's a great venue: just the right size, intimate enough, and earlier in the night they have excellent live music on...
